Patience is a Virtue

Patience – forgotten but hopefully not lost

What is going on in the world today with everyone in such a hurry?

Everywhere you go people are rushing around and not paying attention to what they are doing.

Why must people believe that ‘multi-tasking’ actually is a good thing?

For the un-initiated multi-tasking does not exist because your brain can only focus on one thing at a time. If you believe that you are different then you are deluded. Multi-tasking has created inferior results. Stop, do one thing at a time, and you will be rewarded with a great finished product.

Why must an email be answered at this very moment?

Being wired to technology has created a symptomatic issue of impatience. No one can wait 2 minutes for a response. So people rush to give answers that have not been thought out and actually create a multitude of follow-up emails. The everyone says they are too busy and do not have time to answer all the emails. WHAT?

Why must texting be such a priority?

Texting on cell phones has rendered our young oblivious and virtually brain dead. Texting while driving is insane yet the young folk cannot resist the temptation of a message coming through that says absolutely nothing of importance. Yet, there they are texting away while trying to drive a straight line. In any other time these people would be locked away in an insane asylum. Today, we simply slap them on the wrist and say ‘please don’t do that’.

What in hell’s name is the hurry?

People are scooting around in their cars like the rest of the world does not exist. Impatience causes discourteousness. Slow down you move to fast says Simon and Garfunkel in the popular song from days gone by.

 My Rant

Listen people you are not the only person out there who has things to do and places to go.

At the end of the day think about this; when you zig and zag through traffic to rush to where you are going you may save 1 minute. yea, 1 minute. Hold back a bit and you could prevent an accident and save lives.

I used to laugh at the people rushing around in their cars. I used to say they are rushing to be somewhere they do not want to be…..

When you curse at that person in front of you stop and think that maybe that person also had a bad day or has just lost a loved one. Count to 5 and cool down.

And please, please, be more considerate to everyone you deal with. A smile and a compliment go a long way. The alternative is not nice.

feel free to add your commentary. I have a feeling that there are many out there who feel as I do. If only we can get the guilty ones to see the light as well.
